The Kalamazoo Valley Men's Baseball team is looking forward to an exciting 2019 campaign and will continue their hunt for the ultimate goal of a trip to Oklahoma for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCCA) World Series. The Cougars carry a streak of three straight NJCAA Region XII appearances along with five straight winning seasons.
Head coach Cody Piechocki, who is entering his seventh season as the Cougars' skipper, is looking to his freshman class to make a big impact right off the bat.
"We have an extremely talented group of freshman who will come in and immediately make an impact," Piechocki said. "I am as excited about this group's offensive ability as I ever have been. We have four sophomore arms to carry our pitching rotation and one of the top closers in the region. Everything is in place for this team to succeed."
The team takes to the field March 1 in Florida against Lake Sumter State and then starts conference play March 22 when the host Lake Michigan College.
